Dr. Karin Emde, Periodontist
D.M.D., M.Sc., F.R.C.D(c)

Dr. Emde obtained her Doctorate in Dental Medicine from the Université de Montréal in 2005, and has continued her training at McGill University in a General Practice Residency at The Montreal Jewish General Hospital (2005-2006). She then worked as a general dentist on the South Shore of Montreal before starting her post-graduate training in Periodontics at Columbia University in New York, where she obtained her Masters in June 2010. Dr. Emde is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada in Periodontics.

During her studies at Columbia University, Dr. Emde was the recipient of the Murray Schwartz Scholarship for Excellence in 2008, as well as the Melvin L. Morris Award for Excellence in Postdoctoral Periodontics in 2010. She has also received in 2010 the Post-graduate Birnberg Research Award given by The William Jarvie Society, and the Melvin L. Morris Periodontal Research Fellowship for her research project on the link between periodontal disease and chronic kidney disease.

Aside from her studies, Dr. Emde has completed an internship in general dentistry at the Faculté d'Odontologie of the Université de Montpellier in France, in 2004. She also served as clinical attending for the Faculty of Dentistry at McGill University in 2006.

Her practice is limited to Periodontology and Implantology.
